Flight Changes

You can change your flight online up to 2.5 hours prior to the scheduled departure time of the original or new flight, whichever is earlier. Changes are subject to payment of a change fee, charged per person per flight. See our Table of Fees for details. You must also pay any difference between the original fare and any fees for optional services (such as check-in bags) paid at the time of the booking, and the fare/fees available when you make the change.  Please note that, if the new fare/fee is cheaper than the original fare/fee, we will not refund the difference.

To change your flight, go to ‘My Bookings’ on Ryanair’s website or mobile App and select the flight you want to change.

You can change the following details associated with your booking online:

  • Your flight departure date & time, up to 2.5 hours before the scheduled departure time of your flight;
  • Flight route (destination & departure airports), up to 2.5 hours before the scheduled departure time of your flight;
  • Name changes up to 2 hours before the scheduled departure time of your flight.

You cannot change a domestic flight to an international flight or vice versa due to VAT related issues.

Please note that the following flight details cannot be changed online, and you will need to contact us.

  • One or more passenger’s flight/s on a multi-passenger booking;
  • A partial change to one one-way flight only in a return booking (e.g., change of airport on return leg). See an example below:
    • Original Flights - Dublin -> Stansted / Stansted -> Dublin
    • Change to – Dublin -> Stansted / Luton -> Dublin
  • Where a Spanish resident or a Spanish large family subsidy has been applied.

No, you cannot make this change online, but you can contact us to request this change, please contact us.

If you are away and need to return home urgently, please contact our Customer Service Team here and we will try to help you to return as quickly as possible.  Our Customer Service Team are available 7 days a week at the following times:

Yes. Go to ‘My Bookings’ on our website or mobile App and select the flight you want to change.  Please be aware that our system automatically checks you out even if you do not complete the change. If you are checked in and go to ‘My Bookings’ to look for alternative flights but without completing the change, you will need to check in again before you travel.

Change Flight Fees

Changes are subject to payment of a change fee, charged per person per flight. See our Table of Fees for details. You must also pay any difference between the original fare and any fees for optional services (such as check-in bags) paid at the time of the booking, and the fare/fees available when you make the change.  Please note that, if the new fare/fee is cheaper than the original fare/fee, we will not refund the difference.

We allow a grace period of 24 hours from the time of your original booking to correct any minor errors you may have made (dates/times) free of charge. We also allow you to reverse the route if you’ve booked your flights incorrectly (e.g., you may change DUB to STN to STN to DUB). During this time no flight change fee will be charged, however, you will need to pay any fare difference.

Change My Flight Extras

We always try to transfer any product/extras to your new booking.

If the exact product is unavailable, we will substitute it with a similar product, e.g., if you booked Priority & 2 Cabin Bags on your original flight and this is not available on your new flight, you will be given a 10kg Check-in Bag.

If you selected a specific seat on your original flight, there is no guarantee that we will be able to transfer this to your new flight as it may not be available. If this happens, we will transfer you to the next best available option.

Yes. You can purchase products for your new flight if you wish to do so.

Flexi Plus allows you to change your flight free of charge to a flight departing the day before or the day after your original flight, subject to seat availability. With Flexi Plus, you do not have to pay a flight change fee or fare differences if changes are made within these time limits.  If you are changing to a later flight, you can make the change up to one hour before the original flight’s scheduled departure date/time. To change a flight to an earlier time, you can make that change up to 40 mins before the new flight departure time at the airport ticket desk or up to one hour before the new flight departure time by contacting us here.

If you change to a flight that is scheduled to depart more than one day before or one day after the original flight, you will need to pay the fare difference but will not be charged a flight change fee.

You can change the route of all flights in a booking online through My bookings section. However, once you have taken the outbound flight, you can only change the route of the return flight at an airport ticket desk or through a call centre. You can only change the route between the same departure country and destination country.

If you have already checked in online for the original flight, you will need to contact us to uncheck that flight before you can make the change.

When you change a flight, the services included in Flexi Plus are transferred to the new flight (if those services are available for that flight). If a service cannot be transferred, you will not get a refund of any part of the Flexi Plus fare. 

Making a Name Change

We allow name changes on all bookings.

  • Full name changes can be made online, contact us or at the airport up to 2 hours before scheduled departure subject to a fee, see our Table of Fees. The fee will be higher if you contact and changes will be made through our Customer Service Team.
  • Changes must be made to all the flights in your booking;
  • Minor name changes can also be made free of charge to correct any unintentional errors.
  • First or Last Name changes can be applied free of charge within 48 hours of booking (fees apply after 48-hours)
  • Up to three characters per name can be changed free of charge up to 48 hours before scheduled departure.

We do not require middle names or second/double-barrelled surnames for flight bookings.

Yes. If you booked your flight using your maiden/married name, and you update your name in the passport before the date of travel, we will make the name change on your booking for you free of charge. You’ll need to have proof (copy of your marriage cert). Please contact us on chat on our website to make this change.

Yes. However, you will have to pay our name change fee. You may not change the name if one of the flights has already departed. See our Table of Fees.

Yes. However, you will need to contact us to get unchecked from your flight. 
Then, you can make the change online or through the app.  

If you received an error/payment declined alert when making name changes online, the change may not have been processed correctly and may need to be done again. You might need to use another form of payment or contact us.

Adding & Removing Passengers to a Booking

If you have already made your booking and wish to add an infant (0-2 years), you need to contact us here.

If your infant turns 2 years before their return journey, you must purchase a full-fare adult ticket for their return flight. Please contact us if this scenario arises.

A child (2-11 years) or teen (12-15 years) cannot be added to an accompanying adult’s booking online. Instead, you’ll need to purchase an additional full-fare adult ticket and once you have made the booking, contact us via the chat function on our website so we can link the two bookings and change their passenger type. See our Table of Fees here.   

When you contact us, please make sure you have the following:

  • Both booking references;
  • Your child’s passport/travel documentation details.

It’s not necessary to add an adult to an existing booking as adult tickets can be purchased individually.

If one of the passengers in your booking cannot travel, no action is needed. We cannot remove them from the booking, and no refund will be issued.

Yes. You can update your personal information by logging in to your myRyanair account and editing your personal information.
